Text Box: The cottage stands on the site of an old workshop which was originally part of The Compasses public house. There are 2 lovely bedrooms, one double and one twin, the bathroom is modern and has a shower over the bath, there are storage heaters in each room and it is well insulated and double glazed making it cosy throughout. The sitting room has French doors leading onto a small patio which has stunning views over the Suffolk countryside. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, electric hob, electric oven and microwave. The cottage has a digital TV ( free view is available) and DVD The Compasses cottage is next to The Compasses Pub. The nearest small town ‘’Clare’’ is 4 miles away where there is a number of pubs, Chinese and Indian restaurants and a Co-op and quality butchers among other shops There are a number of lovely walks around the village which is also on the official Clare to Bury St Edmunds walk. All around there are some of Suffolk’s prettiest Villages Lavenham, Kersey, Cavendish and historic Long Melford where the TV series Lovejoy was filmed. and which is now an antique hunters dream. Newmarket with it’s famous horse racing course, Bury St Edmunds with it’s beautiful Abbey gardens And Sudbury with Gainsbourough’s house are all only 20 minutes drive away. The university city of Cambridge, Ipswich town, Norwich and the Suffolk coast can all be reached in one or two hours drive.
